Andrew E., Zsa Zsa Padilla, and Gigi Vibes in Ormoc for the Piña Festival

 ORMOC CITY - The city of Ormoc experienced a night of festive music thru it's invited artists from Manila namely Zsa Zsa Padilla, Gigi Vibes Band. But one things for sure that made Ormocanons shout and dance to the music of the one and only rapper Andrew E. The said concert was also entertained by stand up comedians like Aya Mina etc. which made the night full of laughter.  It was also graced by a Fireworks Display that made the Ormoc sky shine to it's brightest. Piña Festival Queen 2022 to commence on June 26

The Piña Festival is not complete if the street dance won't commence. But this time there won't be a street dance competition but it will only be the Piña Festival, Queen Derby, to be held at the Ormoc City Superdome on June 26.  There will only be a street motor parade of the candidates from Robinsons Place Ormoc to the Ormoc City Plaza.  This is like one of the life festivals in honor of Sts. Peter and Paul in Ormoc City.  The colorful festival costume dresses worn by the queens are going to be paraded around the city.  They will dance beat by beat to the music of the Piña Festival.  Around eight (8) festival queens are competing for the Piña Festival Queen 2022 competition. Zero cases of COVID-19 in Ormoc City

 COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN As of June 20, 2022, the Department of Health – Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 62,105 with total recoveries at 61,421 (98.89%) and total deaths at 669 (1.07%). This brings the total active cases to 15 (0.02%). 16 new cases were recorded from June 13 to June 19, 2022 out of 1,796 laboratory test results. All samples were tested in the four (4) COVID-19 Laboratories of the Region – Eastern Visayas Regional COVIDD-19 Testing Center (EVRCTC), Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory (DWHVL), Ormoc Molecular Diagnostic Center (OMDC) and Salvacion Oppus Yniguez Memorial Provincial Hospital – Molecular Laboratory (SOYMPHML). PH administers over 50-M COVID-19 vaccine doses nationwide

  The Philippines’ National Vaccine Program has reached another milestone, as over 50 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered since its rollout began in March. According to National Vaccination Operation Center (NVOC) data, a total of 50,066,590 doses have already been administered to more than 30 million Filipinos nationwide, of which 23,360,489 individuals have been fully vaccinated or 30.28% of the country’s target population as of October 11. On October 15, the Philippines will begin the inoculation of individuals within the 12 to 17 age group with comorbidities in eight selected hospitals in Metro Manila. Galvez, Jr. said the country now has enough vaccine supplies to inoculate roughly 1.2 million adolescents with comorbidities, of which around 144,123 are from the National Capital Region. Vaccine Czar Galvez: Vaccine supply not a problem anymore

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. called on all local governments to ramp up further their vaccination rollouts, saying the supply of vaccines against COVID-19 was no longer a problem. “With the steady arrival of these vaccines, we call on our local leaders to set aside their political differences and focus on our efforts to inoculate as many people as possible,” said Galvez, the chief implementer of the National Task Force Against COVID-19 (NTF), on Saturday. “We at the NTF are making an assurance that every region in the country will receive an adequate volume of vaccines,” he added. More than 1.3 million doses of Moderna arrived in the country on Saturday, bringing the total vaccine deliveries to 85,575,600 since February. Over 1 million Pfizer vaccine procured by the governement arrived on Wednesday

  Over 1 million doses of procured Pfizer vaccines arrived in the country on Wednesday, September 22,  the biggest single delivery of procured Pfizer vaccines delivered so far.  The Air Hongkong plane carrying  1,028,430 Pfizer doses landed past 9 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3. Of this shipment, 128,700 shots were delivered to Cebu City today at around 6:35 p.m., while 87,750 doses will be shipped to Davao City via Flight on Thursday morning, September 23. The remaining 811,980 doses will be transported to the vaccine storage firm Pharmaserv Express in Marikina City. Dr. Teodoro Herbosa, National Task Force Against (NTF) COVID-19 special adviser, said this latest Pfizer shipment will be deployed to local government units that have the capacity to store the vaccines using ultra-low storage freezers. “It (Pfizer vaccines) will still go mostly outside Metro Manila, that means region 4, region 4-A, region 7, and region 11 in Davao,” Herbosa sa...
