Piña Festival 2019: Get ready for this Sunday's Piña Festival street dance and ritual dance showdown

The most awaited festival the Piña Festival commences on the 23rd June, Sunday 2019. The Piña Festival is one of the most awaited festivals in the Province of Leyte that is celebrated every June in the City of Beautiful People. The festival is held in honor of the Sts. Peter and Paul. Fun, merry and colorful street-dancing fill the streets of Ormoc as part of its celebration and the Grand Showdown and Piña Festival Queen will be held at the Ormoc City Quadrangle.

Tourists both local and foreign, are expected to flock the City to join the festivities and highlights of the event.

PORK SHOP ORMOC - Cebu-based meat shop OPENS second shop in Eastern Visayas

Ormoc City - Consumers in the province of Leyte will now be assured of a steady supply of fresh and local pork after The Pork Shop opened their first branch in the city today. The Pork Shop recently held the grand opening of their branch in Naval, Biliran last month. The branch is the first of many branches that were lined up to open in major economic areas in the province through their franchisee Atty. Manuel Montejo, Jr. Eastern Visayas, specifically the province of Leyte has several municipalities that were hit by ASF forcing the government to cull at least 4,000 hogs. This resulted to shortage in supply and driving prices of pork to a higher than normal level. With the opening of the branch in Ormoc City, Atty.
