Ormoc celebrates City Fiesta and Piña Festival 2019

ORMOC CITY - is celebrating its 422nd Ormoc City Fiesta and the Pìña Festival this coming June. Preparations have already been planned months before the press conference organized by the City Government of Ormoc and the Ormoc City Fiesta EXECOM in holding socio-cultural activities for the month-long celebration.

The Piña Festival is set this June 23 at the Ormoc City Quadrangle, this is to promote the star of the festivities the sweet Queen pineapple that is truly world class of its distinct sweetness "sobra ka tam-is" and the celebration of the feast of the City's patron saints Peter and Paul. Aside from the Piña Festival there is also the search for Miss Ormoc 2019 that will showcase the beauty of the Ormocana beauty on June 28 at the Ormoc City Superdome. The titleholder is set to represent Ormoc City and compete in the Miss World Philippines beauty pageant in Manila.

Another crowd-pleaser is the Parade of lights on June 15 with this year's theme " Storyland". The parade will feature lighted floats and lighted costumes. It will start at the Robinsons Place Ormoc parking area and will pass through major city streets to the City Plaza for a glowing performace.

On the feast day June 29, a Pontifical mass will be held at the Sts. Peter and Paul Parish Church in the morning, and later will follow the grand Culminating Concert with featured artists from Manila like Bamboo, and some local artists.

And it will end with a Grand Fireworks display at the Ormoc City Plaza. (Wowie Phua)
